Don't really understand your question, you can't remove or relocate the shrine as you would any other structure on the farm. It remains a permanent fixture of the farm in case you underperformed for the first evaluation and think you'll do a better job later, in which case you can just use a diamond to get evaluated again whenever you think you've improved. After that, I just made it look prettier; some flowers, a few torches, floor tiles, he was your grandfather and left you his property after all.

You know how in most Farm 'em ups (Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, Rune Factory and the like) there tends to be some form of in-game time limit before you get evaluated on how well you've done?

In SDV, the ghost of your grandfather is that evaluation. You have 2 in-game years before he arrives. Since his farm never did that well when he was alive, despite all the hard work he put into it, Grandpa places the most weight on how much money you've pulled in. He also likes it if you've socialized a lot, learned many useful skills and looked after your pet.

If you want some way of keeping track, sadly the best way to do this without exerternal resources is the Acheivements. If you have the following awardments IN THE SAME FILE, then chances are that you'll pass the evaluation with flying colors.
Millionaire (Get 1,000,000 gold)
Master the the Five Ways (Max out all 5 skills)
The Beloved Farmer (Reach a 10-heart friendship level with 8 people.)
The Bottom (Reach the lowest level of the mines.)

Also, if you can talk to Krobus, that too is a good marker.

Just click on it, if all four candles are lit anyway. If not, then do the things Uxor says, then use a diamond on the shrine. Grandpa will come back, and you should get more candles. It may take a while to get all 4 candles but when you do then click on the shrine and you'll get something.
