Most expensive roe?

I understand fish farms serve more as a source of resource farming than turning profits but has anyone found a fish that can turn a decent profit with its roe? I’ve already tried lava eel which pays roughly 1000 for its aged roe which is decent enough but was curious if anything sold for a bit higher.

legend aged roe sells for 5k though i havent done any major testing so although its the most expensive roe its probably not the best money for time spent

As far as I am aware, the Lava Eel is the best fish for profit. The legendary fish aren't allowed to be put in the ponds since they're suppose to be one of a kind, at least I believe. I'd have to start a new file to confirm this myself but I believe that is the case.

This is correct, from my understanding, the legendary fish "roe" has a chance to spawn at the pools, much like ancient seeds have a chance to spawn at seed makers. That being said, I've put quite a few hours into the fish ponds and i prefer the super cucumbers or the lava eels for best profit. lava eels start off with only one in the pond but do it's quests will yield good profit.

Is legendary fish roe a mod thing? The stardew wiki doesn't say anything about legend roe, and I don't have enough experience with fish pond farming to ever come across such an item.
