Sam heart points

So the last person I need to get to 8 hearts with is Sam. I've already married Harvey so I don't want to give Sam any gifts, so it's taking forever. Since he has so many things that make it so you can't really talk to him, like when he's practicing his guitar, playing his video game outside, or skateboarding trying to do a kickflip, does it still give you points and count toward increasing his hearts if you "talk" to him while he's doing that stuff?

You can still give him gifts if nobody else is close to you.

You do get points for talking to them during special animations like that, but I think it's a smaller amount.

Incidentally, your spouse won't get mad every time you give another single a gift. Only sometimes. And birthday gifts are always allowed.

Ok thanks. One day Harvey stayed in bed all day and was all grumpy. No idea why. I had only given Pierre his secret santa gift the day before.

Once you get Sam's hearts up to 2-3 or so, you can go into his room when he's practicing guitar and give him a gift. You just can't talk with him at that time. Sam is easy to get up to max hearts if you are tapping maple trees. The maple bar that you craft in your kitchen is one of his loved gift.

As for harvey--you still need to give your spouse gifts and talk to them everyday to keep their extra hearts up, or they get depressed and unhappy. Buy a bunch of coffee from the saloon, and give Harvey a coffee every morning and kiss him and he should be less grumpy. That works with Sebastian who I always marry and coffee is just a "like" with him, not a "love" as it is with Harvey, so Harvey shoudl be happy with that.

Gift Sam on Lucky days, that lowers the likelihood of Harvey getting upset.

Sam loves cactus fruit! A silver, gold, or iridium one will gain more affection than any of his other loved gifts that have no higher quality versions.
