What are the Cave Boxes?

What are those boxes that collect your fruits or mushrooms when you place them in the cave called? I should know this I have been playing since THE GAME CAME OUT!

No idea of their actual name, as they aren't referenced anywhere by a specific name in any dialogue. If you're looking for the wiki page, (might have it on there anyway) look under 'farm cave'. Hope this helps!

Seftak, if you choose mushrooms instead of fruit bats, there are 6 boxes in the cave that generate mushrooms.

A bit of googling suggests that mushrooms grown in caves in real life are grown in what are called "beds".

You're talking about Chest, i guess. You know, 60 wood box ones. If you're using Automate mod, chests will collect from connected resources and process those to machines. You know, collecting mushrooms from Cave, reload kegs/jars/whatever, automate crab pots (few worm bins placed near chest placed near line of crab pots = nonstop "fishing" without any attention from your side but taking loot once you need it) etc.

So its not a special item, but a mod.

I'm 99% sure you're talking about Automate mod. But there's also an option to use CJB Item Spawner mod, that shows every single item in game. And by every i mean it.

Doubt that. I mean, you dont place those. You just pick mushrooms or fruit bats once Demetrius asks you, and if you pick mushrooms, those will be there. But if he wanna a specific name for "box where mushrooms spawn", its mushroom plot. But they dont collect fruits or mushrooms, (again) you dont place those and those are mushrooms only. Nothing fruits related.
