Halfway through spring and no furnace

So I'm pretty new to sdv. I bought it a couple days ago and me and my boyfriend are both learning it together. Well I made a new character today, I'm halfway through spring on year one and I've been in the mines multiple times, I have quite a bit of copper and coal and I still have yet to get the cutscene with Clint for the furnace blueprint. I've tried buying copper from him and throwing it on the ground and I've went into the mines got about 15-20 pieces of copper and atleast 6+ coal in a day, went to sleep and still didn't get the cutscene. I'm not to sure if this is just a bug or not because I didn't have an issue with this until I made this character this morning. I have multiple other characters that I call 'cheats' and 2 more regular characters and I've never had this happen. I haven't even had the game for a week yet, I only bought it and started playing it 4 days ago. Any and all help and suggestions is highly appreciated. I'm really at a loss because I want to upgrade my tools and stuff but I can't because I don't have the furnace ;-;. If you need my save file you might have to walk me through how to do that because while I'm not new to zipped folders, I am to sharing files. Anyways thanks in advanced :)

is it single player or multiplayer? also try sell 1 cooper

1st you check your crafting recipes if you just did not skip it one of the early game (its actuallyp ossible to get copper on very first day)
then if selling copper as stated above wont work
just buy one go to open space , throw copper away So that it is NOT immidietaly picked up, and then pick it up (i know it sounds stupid it works like that) ALSO make sure when you throw out the copper you pickit up and throw it with Right click not left one

Right-click SV in your game library, go to Properties, verify the integrity of game cache.

In theory, it's supposed to restore the game to normal - it keeps your save files in place, but fixes any bugs caused by wonky code, supposedly.

Ok I just got on the same character I was having the issue with to do the sell copper thing and when I walk out, BAM I got the cutscene ;-; Idk why it didnt trigger last night and only triggered after i closed the game and opened it up just now. Thanks for the help! Ill keep everything else in mind if I have the same issue again :)
