Anyone else think Jodi is a bit mean?
I already know what's gonna happen: "but Trapward, her husband's a veteran! She's streeeesed T_T". Yeah, well, she yells at her kids a bit excessively, in my humble. Vincent says that she gets mad at him if he's all muddy. I can understand why she might be a little upset, but the kid's, like, eight years old. Kids get muddy, many of them like getting muddy, it's nowt to lose your ♥♥♥♥♥ over. Just make sure he cleans himself up. There's also that heart event with Sam (I forget how many hearts it is). I've never got to this heart event myself, but I watched it in a playthrough on Youtube. Basically, he says he wants to get you a snack, so he hands you a raw egg (as you do) and accidentally drops it. Jodi hears and enters the kitchen, and she instantly starts yelling at Sam. Then, if you lie and say he dropped it on purpose, she pretty much orders him to clean it up, then she's totally okay when he (reluctantly) agrees to it. I dunno what happens if you choose the other options, but that just seems really off to me. So, yeah. Your thoughts?

I think she's too nice. She sometimes tells you that she's never even made them do any chores because she wants them to be able to enjoy their childhood. That, to me, is a sign of a parent that's not strict enough.

As for that event, if I recall correctly, I chose to lie and say that I dropped it, and she thanked me for being honest (pffft) and Sam said he'll clean it.

Nah, she's as strict as a basically single mother needs to be. You shouldn't take Vicent's word at face value because he IS a child and would be prone to exagerrating; her "getting mad" at him just might be a regular mother's frustration and concern, especially if it ends with him getting in trouble and being forced to clean up his mess.

As for Sam, he's either a teenager or a very young and immature adult, both of which require a bit of tough love to straighten them out. And as Nulien has said, Jodi -really- does pamper them outside of asking them to take care of themselves. I mean, have you looked in Sam's room? It's loaded with things that a real strict parent would never allow in the house. Same with Vincent, they both don't lack for things to do because their mother has spoiled them to a degree. I don't think she's mean at all, she's just a parent.
