Which level 10 farming skill would you choose?
When you've reached level 10 in the farming skill area you have the choice of choosing two options. One is called Artisan, increasing the sell priceof Artisan goods by 40%. And the other is called Agriculturist, increasing the growth rate of crops by 10%. So what would you choose?
:corncob: OR :espresso: ? Personally I'd choose Artisan though.

Artisan. 40% higher profit.

If you go for 10% faster growth, it essentially equals 10% higher profit overall. Therefore, if even half of your farming ends up in a keg/cask, you'll bring in more profit from the Artisan boost.

I think it just depends on your playstyle. This is my first run, so I went Artisan for that sweet wine making. With just 52 casks so far, 120+k profit in two weeks is just too good. I plan on making up to 116 just for Ancient Fruit Wine, & maybe another 50 for Starfruit since I have a wine barn & shed, plus a ton of left over Ancient fruit since I had my green house running effciently way before my casks.

If I do another playthrough though, I'd probably choose another source of income. I'm not sure if I'd choose Agriculturist though... it's pretty underpowered, and if I decided to say, do a farm with tons of animals? Artisan would still win out because of their products. With just 1 deluxe coop & barn, I never make less than 5k a day doing mayo and wool. On days where they over produce, I make about 8500. I could make more if I focused on just mayo or tuffles, but I like having one of everything.

The only way I could see Agriculturist being more efficient, is if you just wanted an entire farm of produce that you sold raw. Nothing wrong with that, but that's a lot of juminos, lol.

They're pretty darn cute too, I'll give you that. :shigure2: I seen a trick where, if you wall off some produce, they'll endlessly try to reach it. Permo jumino cuteness.

I just take some purple mushrooms and a stack of blackberries with me for that. Since I get a new stash of like 400 blackberries every fall

Sweet gem berry is worth 3000/3750/4500 gold base price; the wine is worth SO much more.
Requires a seed extractor and a LONG time investment, but SOOOO worth it!
(:steamfacepalm:self)
I must correct my earlier post: sweet gem berries cannot be eaten or put into kegs, preserves jars, or casks. They can only be sold or once given to the Old Master Cannoli statue. :steamsad:

That makes sense. The first time I got one of them i just sold it even though i knew about the Old Master Cannoli statue. And i didn't think to try because i forgot.

Also just discovered the Statue of Uncertainty in the sewer; you can try out all the other professions for ten grand a pop.

Agriculturist was bugged, wasn't it? It made your crops grow mega fast. Like, double speed! I don't know if this is still the case, if so though, Agriculturist is the best choice.
Black Jesus 26 września 2018 o 18:34
I always go artisan. The other one is useless to me because the extra harvest of starfruit is useless to me because it takes more time to make the wine then it does to consume the previous year's starfruit so I end up with a surplus anyway. Having more starfruit does nothing for me because I have to wait 1.5 seasons for it to mature anyway. Therefore I go artisan. If wine wasn't so time consuming and slow I would do agriculturist but it just doesn't work out for me.
timmyvalen 26 września 2018 o 20:07
At first I picked Agriculturist. Then after I had plenty of crops and kegs, I changed it to Artisan.

you plant 3000x3 = 9000 starfruit. you make 1000 kegs, you process 9000 starfruit in 9 weeks.

9000 starfruit wine is 28,350,000. yeah we could make 189 to irridium quality twice a year. for an additional 1.2 million.
Yeah, but the problem is getting nine thousand starfruit seeds in the first place! :stardrop:

Small investments lead up to big ones. The bigger problem isn't buying that many seeds, it's having the space and sprinklers available to plant all that at once.
