In the summer, if I recall correctly, the lake below your farm has pikes. Maybe you can catch them outside Leah's cottage also. That location also has the Dorado. They're the only fish in that lake though in the summer, I'm pretty sure 99%. Then, also the mine lake for the chance at sturgeon, which are pretty good. The beach in the evening you can catch the super cucumber, which is pretty profitable.

Fall, I think by Leah's cottage you can get the tiger trout. I think that's profitable. The mine has the walleye when it's raining in the late afternoon/evening.

And winter again mine fish for the chance at the lingcod.

Then in the mines, level 20 has the stone fish, but you probably catch more ghost fish there. The ice pip is pretty good on level 60, but again, you catch more ghost fish. Then level 100 is the lava eel. All mine fishing will end up giving you a ton of garbage though, so probably best to do it on days when the spirits are really happy.

Hope that helps. :)

I believe Ladyshel means the spot on the river right in front of her house.

Profits depends on season, weather, skill, luck and few more.
If you're not sure, use wiki (like https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Spring - there's a page like this for each season). Mines looks good, but ghostfish costs meh, and chances to get floor fish like stonefish or lava eel are too low. Its common to get only 1-3 lava eels for a whole day.
For rainy days at Spring absolute winner is Legend, which is only legendary fish that might be cathed more than 1 time. Good rainy day is 4-5-6 Legends, at least 5k gold each.
For all other times, just pick your fish.

For a full day of fishing, I'd typically say the lake. I think the beach has more expensive fish, but only at night, and you'd be wasting 1-2 hours walking down there... Most likely better to just camp 1 spot.

I've never heard anyone say the river was the best spot, but maybe it's weather dependent? I never paid much attention to the rain fish or river fish.

River has lots of junk fish like Smallmouth Bass or Sunfish or... well, its no a bad spot, but cant say its best. Maybe its best for rainy days at Spring of Year 1, when you dont have skills for Legend - because of Catfish. Outside of Spring Catfish is kinda rare.

Btw, horse helps.

Use rain totems in spring.... You can fish up multiple legend fish from the mountain lake. I keep getting gold quality ones while I have the 50% increased worth profession. Each gold quality one is worth around 11k with that profession which is insane. You'll typically be 30-60k richer depending on your luck and if the legend fish doesn't decide to be a darter the whole time

You should also fish when it rains in fall in the river as catfish fetch a pretty penny.
