If I lose internet while hosting do other players lose their inventory?
So I've been the host for when my friends all play together, but lately I've been having internet problems. I lose connection to the internet and then everyone drops out of my game. I'm just curious if people lose the items in their inventory when they are forced out because of connection drops.

Most likely, since if the game didn't save of their current inventory items, they wouldn't have it from the previous day.

If you disconnect, it should just act like the day never happened... So when you regain connection, you'll be at 6AM.

This pretty much. From my experience playing MP with a friend, that's how it behaves (and logically should). If i host and crash, everyone is rolled back to the beggining of the day.

If you lose any more progress than the day you're currently playing, it's almost definitely a bug.

Yup, but I think it can come in handy if you want to reset the day for whatever reason. (maybe when you made a big mistake you want to revoke)

No, I don't think that's right? He's not CRASHING, his internet is dying... And I could be wrong, but I assume that the game would act just as if THEY had internet problems and disconnected... in which case, they could lose skill points, it could mess up any buildings/upgrades (including tools) they started that day, quests, and some other stuff - it really screwed up my friend's inventory when he bought the first backpack upgrade, but that was really early in the beta, so that might be fixed now, and it was easily solved by just buying the backpack again the next day anyway...... but their actual inventory and the items they had should still be there, at the very least.

Unless your internet having issues causes your hosted game to crash or go back to menu? But I doubt this is the case. All of the information about the farmhands and the stuff they have is saved on YOUR save file, after all. So as long as your game is still running, the basic information should still be up to date. But they would be teleported back to their cabins (and with full health/stamina) for sure, when they reconnected.

If you aren't gonna be bothering anyone else in your home, you may want to restart your router/modem before starting hosting your game for the day. I dunno what it is, but Stardew Valley seems like it likes to stress out my router/modem, but I have no issues if I do a quick unplug for 5-10 seconds before starting/joining a session for the day.

See that's the thing.. they'll lose progress and any items they collected on the day they were on. When the host loses connection, the farmhands disconnect. And you have to restart the day all over again, and any items you had gathered that day is gone since the savefile is acting like the day never existed. (This actually happened to me where I lost everything I gathered from the current day)

That's bizarre, because I've disconnected as the farmhand due to my own internet issues, but I've still had all the items I gathered in the day... So either this is a unique issue for when the hsot has issues, or one of us is using out-dated info (could definitely be me, I haven't played in at least a week or more), or there was some other complication I'm missing that makes the cases different.
