Who Buys Artisan Goods?

I have tried putting them in the bin outside my house, but I don't get any money for artisan goods if they go into the bin. It's like I didn't put anything in the bin at all. Who buys artisan goods? I have no idea how to sell them. Thanks.

I figured out what my problem was. I was putting items in the bin WITH artisan items too, and the artisan items were showing up in a category that I didn't think they would go in. Therefore, instead of seeing an artisan item in the earnings box, I saw the image of some other item, not realizing that the artisan items were in the same category.
