I recently got married in the game, and tonight when I got home from a long day in the mine, my spouse asked me if I was done with my work for today, and said that they were ready for some fun, but that if I'm tired they understand.

Is this an actual interaction or just flavour text?

Do you mean do they actually have sex, no, it's implied, because keep in mind, kids probably play this too

I didn't expect a sex cutscene to actually take place. What I was expecting was some form of choice between yes / no and then the day ended like usual.
