Mods downloading as microsoft word docs

Ok so I have the latest version of SMAPI, and I have several mods that downloaded as files that I could unzip and put in my stardew valley folder, so they work, but the last several mods I've downloaded come up as microsoft word documents. Which means I can't unzip them, so they don't work. Can anyone tell me what's going on, how to fix it, or point me in the right direction?

Ok I got it! Thank you!! I downloaded 7-Zip, which allowed me to extract the RAR files, and now they work! Thanks for your help ConcentratedLight and dino_inc!

Is the file extension on them .docx or any of the word document types, or do they end in .rar or .7z?
