are grey hearts bad?

i give leah flowers i find, and she says 'thanks for the gift' but now i have grey hearts with her? i know theyre bad because with somebody i have actual coloured hearts, so why does leah hate me if i give her gifts

How many 'grey' hearts? If it's only two at the end, then it's fine. They aren't bad. Leah is a candidate to have a relationship with.

If you purchase a bouquet from Pierre & give it to her, the gray hearts look like the others. As long as a marriage candidate has 8 hearts & 2 gray ones, their friendship does not decline.

She's always had the grey hearts there. All the potential marriage candidates have two grey hearts on their listing, you unlock them by giving them a boquet once you reach 8 hearts.

That means if you give her the flowers (a bouquek or smth) from pierre's shop you will have a girlfriend which is leah in this case so the grey hearts will be gone and after you fill those you can marry her.
