But no, don't expect to play your Steam copy with your friend's Switch copy, for example. I don't think that's EVER happening.
It wouldn't exist. It's already difficult to make PC cross platform with consoles. Thats why most games on pc and on consoles aren't crossing paths ever. It's a lot of work and considering there's only one dev behind Stardew, I don't think it's likely for him to even bother.

Which to me, states that cross-platforming is only a Steam and GoG thing. It won't be Console to PC thing.
