Good places to hide chests?
Multiplayer's out now so I need somewhere to hide my things.
My friends don't use the forums, so I don't think they'll see this thread.

If you're looking to put a chest somewhere, I'd say hide it behind a bush or something in the forest south of the farm. It might wind up being too visible in the winter though (I've never really tried it)

Edit: The bushes that are 3 spaces wide are good. If you put the chest behind the middle space the foliage will obscure the chest completely, regardless of the season.

They'll find it regardless of where you hide it. I mean.. everywhere on the game is walkable. But why do you want to hide them in the first place?

I know everywhere is walkable, but I'm trying to find a good spot where they wouldn't think to look.
And I'm trying to hide it because they keep stealing stuff.

Are you the host? And maybe you should tell them to stop stealing things on you?

Yeah, I am the host. I don't know how to make them stop though.
Is there a way to kick people?

Go to Robin to delete their cabin to kick them. If it doesn't work in multiplayer (it was fixed) load it up in singleplayer and do it there.

Does deleting their cabin ban them, or just kick them?

Kick them until you allow them back in, honestly. If you have them go by invite code, the invite codes change every single time. But if you had, let's say new people join you, your friends who are stealing from you can't join once the new people are in the newly built cabins. As it locks out anyone else from entering

How do I make an invite code?
LuckySara Jun 3, 2018 @ 9:05am
"4. Invite codes
If the person you want to invite is not on your friends list, you can invite them using an invite code. These codes enable cross-play between Steam and GOG. Due to platform restrictions and technical limitations, we are not currently planning to roll this functionality out any wider than Steam and GOG.

To get your invite code, open the settings menu, scroll down to the multiplayer section and click ‘Show Invite Code.’ A 10-12 character string of letters and numbers will show on your screen for you to send to your friend. Your invite code will change each time you reload the game.

To use the code, your friend should launch the game, and then in the co-op menu choose ‘Enter Invite Code…’

You must both be signed in on the Steam client and/or GOG Galaxy client in order for this to work."

You can hide your chest in a table but still, at some point, the community will figure that out and realize you can do that because you can do that but someone who's knowledgeable about Stardew would probably know that "Oh, I think he/she is hiding the chests in the table."

Friends? They dont sound like very good friends to me. You shouldnt be having to hide your stuff in Stardew co-op because well its a CO-OP. They should be working with you nad helping you build your guys farm. But is they cant do that then Id suggest what someone else said and just load it up in single player and delet thier cabins and send an invite to other players that will be friendlier and actually play it like a co-op instead of GTA

This is why there are all those people whining for separate wallets -- crappy "friends".

You don't need hidden chests; you don't need separate wallets.

You need new friends.

Well said, I play with my 2 nephews and we havnt had one issue with sharring money and items at all. Could be because we communicate like normal people and play the game as intended lol

I agree with this comment. One reason why I'm not even opt into beta is not because I don't want to experience bugs but I also don't have anybody to play co-op with. The thing about asking randoms to play co-op with you sounds kinda sketchy imo because it could led to some problems and everyone can be nice or bad or just completely weird that isn't up to your taste.

If you're asking on how you can hide your chests, it does seem like you're not playing with the correct people. It's not a bad thing to have trust issues but however, it seems like the purpose of co-op is to play with people you can actually trust and help each other out with grinding, farming, etc.

They're not stealing like really valuble stuff.
They just occasionally take some of my stuff. It's not a major issue or anything. Just a slight annoyance.
