Chickens always Grumpy Despite Good Treatment
This is annoying me.

I've got a coop, bought 4 chickens. Built a silo. Silo is full.
Every single morning, I come in and take hay out of the silo and into the feeding trough.
I let them outside to feed on plentiful grass.

By rights, they should be happy with this treatment, but for some reason almost every single day they are "grumpy" or "looking a little thin". How can this be the case when I'm feeding them every day, by hand no less?

(Playing in the Beta version)

You might want to check out this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1809
You can also use this to check out what affects animal mood. http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Animals#Mood

No the bugs are still there. The mod fixes those. I'm sorry, maybe I should change my wording.

Oh shoot! No worries, I haven't slept tonight, or last night rather, and might have been the one to misunderstand.

I got excited since some mods don't like my computer. It's a bit of a potato.

Good news! Your potatoe can at least power a clock!

I do pet them everyday, but they give me a squiggly line instead of a heart. That's the problem, though.

but if it's a bug, that does explain a lot. That's incredibly annoying. I don't want to reinstall mods until 1.3 is released properly (so I don't rely on SMAPI's 1.3-compatible beta).

Seems like a pretty glaring bug to exist. It renders animal keeping almost worthless.

EDIT: ...goodness me, this bug existed since before 1.2? What the heck is ConcernedApe doing?

Lack of communication between bug findings, most likely. If no one reports it, he wouldn't know about it.

Weird, I've seen it reported on the subreddit from years ago o_O

I think it depends where you report your bugs. I don't think ConcerendApe looks at every platform there is. It's like me having facebook but I don't look through there often but I will look through instagram more often, lmao

Subreddit, Steam forums, have nothing to do with Concerned Ape. He normally looks on his twitter account or here: https://community.playstarbound.com/threads/stardew-valley-multiplayer-beta-known-issues-fixes.142850/

While yes he has a reddit account, he probably only looks in two areas that have more people in.

If you don't want to mod your game: Make sure you don't go to bed before like 5:30? Sometimes if you go to bed before the chickens go back inside, they don't count as having ate the food in front of them.
