Cross breeding plants?
In the future will we be able to make new seeds as a result of cross breeding aka planting two plants next to each other to produce a unique seed as a sort of progression via a teir system like the current star system.

So in the case of a greenhouse have the meens to plant say a spring and a summer plant to produce a seed that will grow in both seasons.

Unlikely, unless someone who makes mods adds it in.

I don't think you have a grasp on how crossbreeding works and the limits to it, you can't just take two plants from completely different families and make them pollinate one another... Most crossbreeds are done within a species to select certain favorable traits one plant may have but another of the same species does not due to evolutionary variation within the species. Other than traditional crossbreeding with pollen, theres many other methods and tech that can allow some pretty interesting results. i.e. budding or grafting is basically when you take one tree's bud and stem, and implant it into the stock of another tree, even if they arent the same species, usually within a genus, peaches can be grown off a plum tree for example. Same with many of the citrus trees, you could have a tree growing lemons and limes. Of course there are more expensive methods like gene splicing done in a lab.
