HELP PLEASE!
I have a resolution of 1024x768. When i put the game settings to fullscreen i get a black screen because i can't handle that resolution and i can't change the resolution without going fullscreen. So you see i'm sort of stuck in a limbo. Does anyone know how to fix this or how i can changem y resolution in the files?

A reinstallation might reset the resolution back to what it originally was, just backup your saves. There might be an easier way looking through the file properties but I'm not entirely sure.

No i just bought it and i can't play it because it won't go into my resolution. And i've tried to look for a resolution setting in the files but there's none.

So the game worked when it was windowed?

Kind of, but only half the screen was the game. The other half was black.

Might be your monitor drivers, see if you have the most up to date ones properly installed

No it's just that the resolution is too big for my monitor and i can't change it since it goes black when i go fullscreen.

NOTE: IM NOT A PRO AND HAVE NOT TESTED THIS
Hi there!
I might've found something.
in your windows files type: %appdata%/StardewValley/
This will direct you to the Stardewvalley local files.
As far as i can see, startup preferences need to be adjusted.
Just do the opposite (enter 1 where there is 0 .. enter false where there is true). i think you do have to save it as the same file.
I hope someone joins in here and help better then i can.

No, this just puts it in borderless windowed. Which means my windows cursor is like 8 centimeters to the right of my in-game cursor. Causing it to stop when going to the right too much.

So, just like with ZombieSlayer, I haven't tested this, but there's something else you could try:

In your "%appdata%/StardewValley" folder, look for the "startup_preferences" Config file. MAKE A BACKUP OF THIS FILE FIRST, I don't think it will hurt anything if this file gets jumbled, but I'm not sure. After you've made a backup, open it with a text editing program like Notepad++ or even just regular Notepad. Do a quick find in document for "preferredResolution" - you should find a <preferredResolutionX>1440</preferredResolutionX> - change the 1440 to 1024. You should also find a <preferredResolutionY>900</preferredResolutionY> - change that 900 to 768. Save it. See if that helps at all.

These same tags are also available in your individual save files. So you can go into the "Saves" folder, find the folder for the specific character (for example, I have a save folder "Mondai_117245269"), then MAKE A BACKUP OF THIS SAVE FILE. After you've backed it up, edit the file with the same name as the folder (again, the file for me would also be named "Mondai_117245269"). Search inside the file for the same "preferredResolution" text, and make the changes as above.

Again, I haven't tested this, but I BELIEVE it should help...

It's definitely not an old version of the game. I'm in the beta, maybe my files don't match because you're not in the beta? Give me a minute, then, I'll look into it.

Nope, my really old files have that, too. I'm gonna send you a friend request so I can send you my e-mail address, would you be able to e-mail me your save file and preferences file?
