How long did it take you to find a prismatic shard?

I play with my wife actually, and we've of course been wanting to get hitched in-game. It feels like forever but we FINALLY got extremely lucky from an omni-geode and cracked open a prismatic shard for the wedding ring!

Time it took: Winter Day 22, Year 2.

How long did it take you guys? That felt like forever.

Yeah it's hard. The idea was on our luckiest days to hit the desert mines and hopefully get a lucky drop but it never worked. Omni-geodes I guess are the best way in the end even though it has a 0.004 chance ; ;

I actually got two in a row somewhere around my third or fourth desert mine run, sometime in early winter year 1, but didn't know that the galaxy sword would steal both in the stack :(

I got one on first trip to the Quarry. I have several now from mining the skull caverns.

got my first from an omni geode ( bless you, Stardew Predictor ! )

I don't remember which year but I brought like 150 omni geodes and got 2 from it. Aside from breaking geodes, never found any others through quarrry or skull caverns.

It is easy to get, just cost a bit of money. I got mine in winter year one when I first went to skull cavern.

Just use rocks to create stairs and go as deep into the Skull cavern as you can. On a day with max luck and on a deep floor you will get a few drops of them. I picked up two last time if I remember correctly.

Definitely tried that man. Both of us would go out on the good luck days and go as deep as possible. We made it to around 50 at one point in year 1 actually, and had a lot of 30+ visits. We just never got lucky. You'd think with 2 people your chances are doubled.

save 1 only found 2, save 2 only found 1, only found 1 dino egg in save 2 :( and save 1 has 100+ hrs into it save 2 <50hrs i think and i got the egg with in the 1st year

For those waiting for favorable Luck days to go to the Caverns, if you really want to influence it, use Luck food :~)

It kinda comes down to rng, I have several shards, but still no dino egg.

It's extremely luck based.

On my first file, I found one on the first day I unlocked the quarry. Found another a few days later - in the quarry.

On my current file, I just got one on floor 1 of the skull caverns, on my first trip in there.

You can usually get it "relatively" easily if you have the burglar ring and grind the mines - the shadow brutes and shamans all have a chance to drop the shard, and the ring doubles drops.

Other than that, boost your luck and try the skull caverns - I got 5 prismatic shards in a day when I reached floor 70.

You do know that floor 50 isn't really enough right? You should aim for floor 100 and below.

I just found one in the Fall of my second year, but I go through the mines a lot......
