What are the names of your chickens?

I named my first two "Luna" and "Sol" which is spanish for "Moon" and "Sun" :)

Latin is the root language of Spanish, as such many of the words are the same. Luna and Sol as spelled and defined originated in Latin.

I didn't know that. Tis interesting information in my opinion. So thanks.

Latin, not Spanish, actually.


And I am not great with names, so I name my animals after Greek, Roman, and Norse deities.

I hate to be the one to revive a 6 year old thread over something not even related to the main topic, but that they stem from Latin in no way means that they are not the Spanish words for moon and sun. That's like saying that someone born in the USA is actually from England, (or any of the other countries people emigrated from) just because they have roots there.

The two chickens I started out with in the meadowlands farm are named Tiny and Shrimp!

I name my chickens after fast food restuarants that serve chicken. KFC, BoJangles, Popeye's etc
