Magnet tackle counting as bait

My magnet tackles count as bait and they shouldn't. I am playing on my really old save on the beta, so my question is: is this a bug from the beta or just that my file is very very old? I think back them there were the same issue, and if it has not being changed from 1.0 I don't know what to say.

You might be getting the bait "magnet" mixed up with the tackle "treasure hunter."

Wow I thought it wasn't bait, long ago it was considered tackle and then it changed to bait. I wasn't really a fan of fishing so I didn't care but what an overpriced bait my gosh it is useless.

I dunno, the price seems decent for what it is. 1 iron bar for a 90% chance at treasure? That's decent, if you're artifact hunting. It all depends on where you are in the game though - some farms will have tons of leftover bars, others will constantly be out of bars. And if your "treasure" turns out to be, like, 2 pieces of wood, then obviously it isn't worth it. But if you regularly fish up diamonds or something, it'd be nice.

Wish artifact hunting was better. On my current save, I am trying to get all achievements (I left cooking, artifacts and fishing out because it was boring) and I am down to 3 artifacts I can't find on year 5 (fall). I am always getting the same artifacts when I fish, I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ need the tibia ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, not another rusty kog, a kog, or dried starfishes. Fishing for diamonds it is not worth the time tho, it is better to have a full shed filled with crystalariums. Fishing is not fun to me, and I am having no luck tilling the mines/artifact spots, please give me another legal way to do this, or I am gonna get them trough the name bug.

Not all artifacts are found the same way. I'm assuming you need Prehistoric Tibia which is found through digging up in the railroad or Cindersap Forest (1%). Fishing is by far the easier achievement since all the legendary fishes I caught are not even that hard.

At the start of each day, you can check your save for artifact spots, and what they contain. It saves you wasting a whole day looking for artifact spots only to get nothing but rocks and clay.

Kinda cheaty? Maybe. But useful nontheless once you only need 2 or 3 things to find.

I actually used the wiki and got into places on lucky days (eating lucky food and currently having the lucky charm), finding the same artifacts over and over again. I am left with the tibia, rib and ancient sword (I got 3 of them on another save, which is annoying). Getting artifacts it is not fun when you are down to 3, and the elven bracelet is the only thing you dig up on the forest knowing you can dig up other artifacts but RNG haha yes very funny.

Not blaming you, you tried to help me and I appreciate that, but I think the artifact hunting needs to be changed to be funnier and not the annoying RNG task it is right now. I kinda wish ConcernedApe changes them and turns them into something like the secret notes, which are by far more entertaining that artifact hunting.

I'm sorry if I am being cranky, I know this is a great game but this thing in particular makes me angry, and I know I can be wrong about that but I really think this game needs to change the obtention of artifacts.

I'll probably use it, thanks. As I said to FVWLOW, I thing this need to be changed onto something less frustrating like the secret notes or something like that, which makes that less frustrating.
