Can i change the bed?

Nope. The bed is one of the few things in your house that is not changeable.

EDIT: When you upgrade your house, you automatically switch to a bigger bed. And when you upgrade again you get a nursery with a crib and 2 kids' beds. But you can't make any other changes to any of them.

Well that would take time he would have to make new sprites for diffrent beds wich i mean he could do real quick i guess but i feel like it take a bit more time than hes willing to put down just to make u able to change bed i do tho belive u can use mods to make the bed look diffrent

I'm also not sure how he would manage that. There's a reason that he doesn't let you pick up the bed. If you pick up the bed to change it to a different one, what if you forget and say "Eh, I'll do it after I go to the store." and then you end up going to the mines and OH NO! You've died in the mines and lost half your inventory! Your bed is gone! Now where are you going to sleep tonight?

It may be an unlikely scenario and an extreme example, but someone will end up doing it. And if you pass out without a bed, where will the game put you in the morning?

... Or as a much simpler explanation:

The game needs your bed to be in THE SAME PLACE so it can spawn you there in the morning, and so that your spouse knows where to go to sleep at night.

There are mods that'll change the interior of the house (bed included), so just look around nexusmods and find one you like. Plus I believe there are mods that'll just change the bed but leave the rest of the interior alone if you prefer that.

Dude this isn't Minecraft game. In Minecraft you losing everything and if u haven't bed you will respawn on first spawn location. People are not stupid.

This isn't Minecraft though. I doubt Minecraft's spawn code has much in common with Stardew Valley's.

You're right. Not having a bed in Minecraft doesn't break the game. It just resets your spawn location to the world default.

Not having a bed in Stardew Valley? That might break the game. You need a bed to sleep, in this game. Sleeping is an important part of this game.

Also, in this game, if you die in the mines you lose some of the items that you're carrying. If you were carrying your bed, it could be lost. Which is probably part of the reason that ConcernedApe (the man who made the whole game) made it so that you CAN'T pick up your bed.

I don't understand where the idea of picking up the bed was even brought up.
The OP wants the ability to change the appearance of the bed. You don't need to be able to pick up/place beds to do that.

The Catalog could be made to allow a player to simply change the appearance of the bed (for a price) whenever you want.

But until something like that is implemented... that is to say, *if* it's ever implemented... OP's best bet is to seek out mods that will change the appearance for him.
