Slime farming still sucks.
If anyone is wondering if 1.3 updated slime farming, it didn't. It's still trash. I've got a big slime/forage farm, and the money is... okay. Every week my crystalariums give me like 30k in diamonds, my 9(?) slime hutches give me like 3-8k per day, and my forage crops add another 50-100k per season. It's a lot slower than normal farming, but man, slime farming needs a buff.

- Each hutch gives a max of about 60 slime per day. You need 100 slime to make 1 egg. So if you spend 50k to make 5 hutches, you can make 3-10k per day on eggs, typically rounding out to 4.5k per day from the uncommon blue/red eggs. This also takes several weeks to set up, as slime eggs take awhile to incubate and their mating is random.

- Otherwise, if you only have 1 slime hutch, that's about 4 eggs per week - 4k profit. In the "grand scheme", this is decent, as you're investing 10k and making 4k, so it'll pay itself off within a season. However, you also require a ring from slaughtering thousands of slimes, or to take tons of damage while you water your slimes.

- The petrified slime addition with the 1.2(?) update helped a lot. It adds an extra 300-800g per hutch, usually. More with the Gemologist perk. I'm not sure, but I think getting the Lucky Charm also increases your chances of finding more petrified slimes.

- Raising slimes on the farm is truly awful. I could be wrong, but I think when they added the Wilderness farm, they made it so slimes on the farm had nerfed drops. If I kill 100 slimes on my farm, and 100 in the Skull Cavern, the Skull Cavern slimes would typically give me about 2 eggs, a few diamonds, maybe 15 iridium and uncommonly an iridium bar. Purple slimes killed on my farm, however, gave absolutely no iridium and 1 diamond. Furthermore, the slimes CONSTANTLY escape, as if they're confined to a tiny pen. They're not. They have a 3x20 space to run around in, and my 10 slimes are constantly overflowing out of the pen.

Here's my current layout, if anyone's curious: https://upload.farm/static/images/4/1Fh3HC/1Fh3HC-m.png

It just seems like they added more stuff to spend money on and cutscenes, but didn't fix any major annoyances still left in the game, such as useless perks or redundant crafting recipes.

- The slime hutch has a roof hatch. Why not allow us to open that, so that if it's raining we won't have to water them?

- There's 4 water tanks, and 20 slimes per hutch max. 5 water tanks per slime. Let us upgrade the hutch to have 20 water tanks, so we can just refill it every few days, or let the tanks hold more water.

- Let us place sprinklers inside to refill the tanks, if nothing else.

- Give us a slime accumulator, similar to how barn animals got an auto collector.

- Severely reduce the chance of slimes escaping, and either buff their drops or let us find their "drops" in the egg sacs. Like, instead of an egg sac having 15 slime balls, let it have 8 slime, 3 iridium; or 10 slime, 1 diamond.

- Possibly unpopular opinion: Remove the need for the Slime Charmer ring, and instead have it be a niche item for the mines. We are raising these slimes from birth, helping them reproduce, and bringing them fresh water every day. They should love us, not attack us.
