Is it just me or is no one else wondering why there is no rice crop yet? I mean i can make my own oil and sugar and flour. I just want to be self sufficient but nope still gotta buy me that rice from pierres, just wondering if im the only one who thinks this

As other have said, there are several ways to get rice shoots, but Pierre doesn't sell them in the first Spring. I haven't gotten to second Spring after the 1.4 update, so perhaps that's when he adds them.

He adds them after Spring one. with Garlic and stuff, I check Pierre's store everyday (in game) for Caroline(She is nice) And check for new wallpaper/floor that's how i noticed he sold it

I got my first rice seeds from the worms in the ground then more from the grub bugs in the mine. I planted it on the edges of my ponds and it grew great! Didn't do anything to them until it was time to harvest them.

Maybe it's worth seeing if you can mature it in a cask. It may turn into vinegar then?
