magnifying glass event wont trigger

i am in winter in my 5th year, i go to the east, to the bus station and the event with the little shadow guy isnt triggering. Do you guys have any idea why?

Just have to check.

According to information coming together, you need to make sure you go to the bus stop between 6am and 4pm. You might also have to have unlocked the sewer and spoken to the individual inside before it will trigger.

You might also have to have completed the Vault community bundle, but I'm sure you've already got that done in year 5.

I wonder if there's a condition that you need to get to a certain level in the mines, or a certain number of hearts with Krobus. It could be a bug of course, the 1.3 is still in beta after all, and bugs can crop up in odd places.

yes for the third time i am running the 1.3 beta :D

and i dont really think that you need some specific conditions. i am in my 5th year ingame, so i already did most of the things to do. the only thing i didnt focus that much on, are the relationsships. But other people didnt even met krobus and had the cutscene

I haven't met Krobus yet and have gotten the cutscene twice now. I've completed the vault and I'm in winter year 1. Dunno if I'm supposed to actually get a magnifying glass or what's exactly supposed to happen. Nothing seems different with the UI or tabs. I did stumble across a secret note, but have no idea what to do with it. I'm playing in SP. Maybe it's just buggy. (This is a new game in the beta.)

yeah maybe its just buggy. no real reason why it shouldnt work. i created a second single player game and skipped until winter and also didnt get the cutscene...

i have the same problem iam in year 3 with my file (winter) i unlocked everything YES BETA and the event dont trigger

Followed him to the bush got the animation about receiving a magnifying glass, but nothing added to inventory. I'll have to check the wiki or search threads to find out what's supposed to be happening.

edit: ok, found the wiki entry on secret notes. That helped. I have a bunch of secret notes I didn't know what to do with. I'll have to try right clicking on them. I thought you actually got a magnifying glass in inventory. I guess not.

I'm on my 4th year and was encountering the same problem, but i managed to finally get it to work.

I've tried going straight to the bus station a bunch of times after waking up (6am) and nothing happens, so I just waited a bit ('til 7:30am-ish) before going there and i got the event to trigger.

it presumably goes into your wallet along with the wizard's ink pot, the skeleton key, Joja membership card, etc
