Is the character you're deleting the Host, or a Farmhand?

Deletion occurs on the end of the host.
Currently (Pre 1.3 release Beta) the most efficient way to do this is enter your XML save files and "remove" the Farmhand. There are other posts instructing how.
And the wonderful Mondai shared one of those posts for you! Great job! (Editted to say this)

Eventually, it is supposed to be as simple as "Destroy the Cabin".

If you want to delete the Host character, simply go to the "Singleplayer" section and choose the big Crossed out circle on the ride side to remove it.
