The chests in the mines bother me

Having one item to share between 2-4 I agree with, eventually it means one person will be the miner pretty much. But my friend reached the chest with the tundra boots before me and he wanted to let me have the chest this time, so he closed it waiting for me to appear. In the single player game once you close it its gone, but I don't think thats fair for co-op, in case we want to let our friends get it. I mean simple solution, pick it up for your friend or don't open it, but if you forget it's just gone forever and that's really frustrating, especially with the tundra boots because you can only get them from the mines.

It's been a while since I collected anything in the mines, so I'm not sure, but it sounds like it shouldn't vanish if the item was never collected.

If you are open to mods, there is an item spawner mod on the nexus that's updated for the beta. You could use it to get the item back and then delete it afterward. You'll have to use SMAPI. It's called CJB Item Spawner.

I use that in single player for this reason, if it works for beta I am definitely open to getting it. I was going to wait for full release otherwise.

You should be able to leave the item in the chest, I've done that before in single player - my inventory was full so I just left and came back.

Not sure if the chest would stay overnight, though.

Did you open the chest though? I've never noticed that before in single play from memory

When you open it, the game assumes that you take what is inside. The chest then disappear. It's always better to take the chest as soon as you see it. Then trade the items to someone with you.

can we all keep in mind that this is the beta? if you see glitches like this you need to report them to @concernedape on twitter, not in the steam forums. :))
