If we had 4 players already join a farm, can a 5th person join if one of the original 4 are not playing? Would thy select an already made character?

In order to "switch out players" (who aren't the host), you have to destroy one fo the pre-existing cabins and build another one

Presently, the only way to do it, without deleting someone elses progress, is to do some extremely resourceful save game editing, discovered by someone on Reddit.
