The good The Bad The Ugly - Multiplayer

This is a insightful post about multiplayer mode. I been playing for 300 hours of stardew valley and 30 of those hours have been multiplayer. I will tell you some of the things i have experienced in multiplayer.

SO for starters - Pugging games is hard. Very hard. Most games never reach summer year 1 and many players are confused about many game mechanics..

As well there can be language barriers, cheats, trolls, and there can also be people who give up to easily or mis communication.

It's kind of hard to pair 4 strangers together to work with a single income and work together to build a farm. It's not toxic like league of legends games mind you, but it's pretty difficult to get it right.

Another thing i notice is - different players have different psychologies. SOme are cheerful and positive, some talk a lot, some are quiet, and some people try to flirt with girls. Also some people tend to join many different games (i do that) but often we never find a true long term game.

As for as mechanics go - Everyone wants to do the community center and everyone is obsessed with buying bags early on. Some people know how to min max while others disagree about the best way to do things. Others find fishing early game to be profitable and others try to clear the farm.

The one good thing is - in all my games i have been in - everyone works together to water the crops. That's good.

Discord seems to be the primary communication method with chat too.

I've seen people from Europe Brazil north america Astralia and from cananda.

Well i hope this post gives people some idea about what multiplayer is about. It's a wild untamed social challenge and it's very hard to find permenant long term games. I hope you have fun playing multiplayer as i have. Everybody is testing out co-op and this is (MY OPINION) what i have experienced.

Play with friends and likeminded people. Playing with randoms, you're going to have a bad time.

There's your problem.

Try and find someone with a similar schedule who you can talk to. I've been playing with friends, and we easily got past Summer. We'd be even farther if not for the nighttime lag spikes on the farm.

well i don't have too many friends and i am very quiet in discord. I tend to be cuatious about people.

I am playing single player beta right now. It feels so refreshing after the ordeal of multiplayer. I believe that stardew valley is fun in co-op when you play with people who have similar values and beliefs as you.

Any ways yea / pugging is very hard. Not a fun thing to do.

Yea, if you're going to group with pugs you better do some serious sifting and planning to secure a team, so to speak. Otherwise have fun playing Spring 1-7.
