Thank you for that. Quick question: Are the mods individual, like if I have let's say the Fishing Mod but someone doesn't (i am hosting) do they get the mod's ability too since I am hosting or do I have it only? Or if someone has it but I, the host, don't, does it still let them use it? Sorry if this is confusing lol.

I don't recomend playing with SMAPI quite yet, the current version has a major bug that causes multiplayer games to desync during any seasonal festival. The developer of the mod said he would attempt to tackle it in his next patch for SMAPI, which will probably be soon.

I think it depends upon the mod. Like I know Automation and Time Speed are host side, if another player has either of those installed it will simply disable them. I only know of one mod for certain that is individual, and that's Regen. The only reason I know that though is because my daughter didn't have mods and was still able to play with me on a game I hosted. I happened to notice her stamina wasn't regenerating like mine was. Content Patcher and XNB which are listed on that sight below the table are all visual so those are definitely client/individual based.

There might be some more information out there with a more detailed answer and I apologize that I could only answer in the vaguest of forms for you.

Thanks for all the info, I know it's super early for anyone to have all the answers but you gave me a very good idea, thank you.

Thanks for that, in all honesty I didnt really expect mods to be perfect at this point, I was mostly wondering if they even would work on multiplayer or if all players needed the same ones, like starbound. Thanks for the heads up

Oh! Well I personally have only played the first few days of the first year so I haven't got that far as of yet. I am sure this will be fixed rather rapidly though. I mean there has already been one update to SMAPI since yesterday.

On a sidenote I say we all tip our proverbial hats to Pathoschild for the huge amount he has done for the community.
