Do trees grow off season?
Looking to get into tree farming, but you only have 500 gold to start year one with, was wondering if I planted trees in fall winter, if they would grow to maturity before their harvest season so I could harvest them from day one of the new season?

Edit: specifically the fruit trees

Fruit trees grow in all seasons, including winter.
Just make sure you keep the 8 tiles around your tree always empty.

Fruit trees will grow to maturity during any season but will only produce fruit during thier season.
(unless the fruit tree is in the green house in which case it will produce fruits every season)

break them greenhouse floor tiles up, and plant them in'er!
true, the problem is getting the green house in year one, which I'm not sure you can do normally.

Oh, you can.
If go JoJo way. 40000 gold (5000+35000) is costly, but possible.
If Community way, problem is 5 gold star crops every season, and have to purchase Apple or Pomegranate tree seeds before mid summer, since 1 season to grow and those 2 harvest of Fall.

It's possible, yes. You have to be efficient with your money.

You'll need a level 2 Barn, a level two Coop, and probably two Fruit trees (Apple and Pomegranate being the most likely, though not the cheapest).

Getting lucky at the traveling cart helps too. Look for eggs and milk (both kinds). This most recent playthrough I did, I did get lucky and got a Large Goat's milk from the cart, which meant I only needed a level one Barn).

I usually plant a lot of Parsnips anyway (since it rasies your farming skill), so getting enough quality Parsnips without fertilizer isn't usually a problem for me.

The Corn and the Mellons I use Fertilizer on. But just the basic stuff is sufficient (in my opinion).

so I normally do, pomegrante, Apple, honey, jelly, Cheese and Goat Cheese. traveling cart could get us additional food but easily doable by month 1.

Yeah, that.

Which I normally make a coop, get a brown egg, a White egg, a duck egg, and wool (rabbit)

meaning I just need large milk or goat milk from the barn. or the traveling cart.

See, for me the Wool is the hardest to get, since it requires a level 3 building (either coop or barn). I go for the two milks, the two large eggs and the duck egg.

But I'm usually as efficient as you are.
