Anyway it's down to the RNG, a lot of things in this game are. Yesterday I got a quest from someone to fish a Red Mullet, a fairly common catch, yet I didn't catch one even though I was fishing for 2 in-game days from 8 AM to 10 PM.
Sometimes you're just unlucky.
And I can't wear a condom because my farmer and myself are female. But the human babys are not the problem, my farmer gave birth to a boy and a girl already ;)
Thanks for the answers!

Never ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
If a barn passes all these checks, a random animal inside is chosen. If the animal is not a baby and has pregnancy enabled, that animal will give birth."
( from https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Animals#Animal_Births )
TLDR : the rate is so ridiculously low you should completly ignore that crappy system an just buy new animals from Marnie.
I have two full upgraded barns - one of them is full with 12 animals and one of them has now 4 animals inside...it had two animals inside for quite a while before that.
Hmn..50% doens't sound so bad :D But then....hmn...
