How do you plant 20 fruit trees in the Greenhouse?
According to the wiki, there is a layout that allows 20 trees in the farthest edge of the greenhouse. However, when I purchased the saplings, and brought them to the greenhouse, the cursor shows red when I try to place them in the indicated spots.

On the forum, someone posted their greenhouse where this is being done:
https://www.reddit.com/r/StardewValley/comments/7lev6t/the_greenhouse_fits_twenty_20_fruit_trees/

But I don't see how they actually made it happen... I just can't plant in those locations.

Any help/advice?

The blocked greenhouse object layout has been changed since that "discovery" was made. You can still plant fruit trees along the outer path, just not right on the edge where the clutter is. Experiment with statues/torches to find the layout that works for you. You certainly don't need 20 of them.

Just remember that fruit trees need a full 3x3 of clear space (from other trees).

As far as I know, I managed to plant like 15 trees or so outside. The layout that is being looked for here wouldn't work since how the eff would it work? In a 3D fashion, trees would wall glitch.

@SquarelyCircle
The corners are quite hard to come by especially if you use a controller. You have to make sure that you're standing as close to the edges as possible.
This is how it looks like when they're freshly planted:

Are you writing about changes in 1.3?
In previous versions that still works well.

That is usually what is implied by "Has been changed since", suggesting that a NEWER version of the game differs from the older one.

Yeah but 1.3 is still in Beta and hence is not released?!

I just planted the stuff in the screenshot virtually less than 10min ago.

Yeah, I'm working in the beta version. Was it difficult at all in the previous versions? If I stand in the space diagonal from the top-left corner, and click a sapling in that corner, should it just plant? Or is there some tricky trick to it?

If it should just plant, it doesn't work in the beta.

That is something you really need to mention.

But tipsy is right about it. Once planted they will stay so you can plant them in 1.2 and then switch to 1.3.

In 1.3 thy changed the behaviour to not being able to plant the seeds on props at all so you can place them on the barrel etc. anymore.

If 1.3 is released a mod would also enable you to plant in those areas again. While then you can just get a different greenhouse mod which also enlarges it etc.

Since I can still do this I assume it was patched in the multiplayer beta. Will my greenhouse destroy my trees if I decide to update?

It shouldn't.
While it is always a good idea to make a backup of your save if you want to play 1.3 anyways so just go into your %appdata%/stardewvalley folder and make a backup of the save folder.
