Just donate another item and then pick up and place down every item in the museum while you're donating. It should say you donated the item when you pick up and place down items farmhands donated. That might help you anyway.
See the thing is one time way early in the game, as the person who isn't the host, I decided to reorganize the museum. However, the next day everything disappeared? So I'm a bit worried of doing this
Not a dumb question, don't worry! Yes the host has slept in their own bed. I'll have to have the host reorganize the museum and see if that triggers it to happen.
You could also just try to have them add or move one thing? I just finished out the museum in a multiplayer game (well, I added the 60th item... and a few more after) and we got the museum key the next day as normal. I'm sure this is a silly question, too, but you're not counting the items that disappeared, are you? Only the ones that are currently in the museum?
I'm counting the items currently in the museum, but the items that "disappeared" also counted as well beings that when I started putting back items in the reward system did not reset
