help! my achievements aren't showing up in steam
so im sorry if this has been asked billions of times but the achievements which ive gotten in stardew dont show up in steam. eg ive done the polyculture one yesterday and the journey of the prairie king one today but they havent showed up in steam.

I have SMAPI installed but i havent been running it for a few weeks now as i just play the game through a shortcut on my laptop and ive disabled the steam shortcut which routes the game through SMAPI so im not sure why it isnt working.

thank you if you answer and sorry for bothering you!

what? are you talking about deleting the SMAPI route so i can play vanilla again? sorry if im being dumb like you're implying but i don't understand how getting deleting the route has to do with unlocking steam achievements? wouldn't it just make me viable to get the achievements again because i'm running the game through steam properly without the mods instead of through SMAPI?
If the SMAPI is still installed (as you stated in your OP) you're not playing vanilla. The SMAPI overwrites the game's exe.
I'm not implying you're dumb, you just didn't made the problem clear enough.

yeah
Weird. If the Steam Overlay works, achievements should work as well, since it means the launcher does start through Steam.

maybe it has something to do with the fact that i ran the game through SMAPI a couple times then deleted that route thing??
If you mean the route from the launch options then yes, that is definitely the problem. You have to put that there for a reason.

I have the same problem, but my Steam Overlay doesn't work as well. I got like 5 achivements and then it stopped giving them to me.

Basically the SMAPI route overwrote part of the vanilla route, so when you deleted it you failed to restore the complete route for vanilla. Run a file integerity scan or reinstall to fix it.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

okay so i've deleted the SMAPI files from my computer just today so will i have to do all the achievements that i've gotten from playing with SMAPI installed again?
Unfortunately, yes. You also should do a complete reinstall of the game if you haven't done it yet (making sure ALL files were deleted before installing it again).

wait sorry but since i've gotten the achievements unlocked in the game (eg polyculture) but not in steam how am i going to unlock it again? with a different save?
Yep, you either start a new save and do the achievements there, or you could use Steam Achievement Manager.
