Yeah, Riedy has an important point there. The sales don't all go to CA. Steam gets a cut, so does Chucklefish. And do do the feds.
And the game isn't always selling for "full retail". A non-trivial quantity of the purchases are during sales, when the price is about $10. I believe SDV has been part of the Humble Bundle too.
Has CA made a huge pile of money from the game? Sure. Does he have $35 million? I'd guess probably not. I wouldn't want to specualte how much he has, but do keep in mind that "sales" and "profits" aren't the same thing.
