Pigs find more truffles while you are at your farm?
On days when I am crafting a lot like making cheese, or farming large areas of land, my pigs seem to find 2-3 truffles each. On days when I'm at the mines or running around town sometimes I only get 1 truffle, or even worse 0. Does anyone know if picking the truffles up right away after the pigs find them matters, or if being in the vicinity increases their chance?

How many pigs do you have? At full hearts you should be averaging AT LEAST one truffle per pig, in my experience anyway. How large if your truffle zone? Don't let them roam too far, I'd say fence off an area around the barn so that they aren't walking around all over the place and not digging, a more condensed field is way better for truffle production.

I've noticed I have days where each pig gets three truffles, and I'm shocked. It's usually when I'm in range to hear them dig it up, too. It may be my imagination, but there might be something to it.

I certainly think someone else would have noticed by now and it'd be documented in an official capacity in the wiki, but the wiki isn't necessarily omniscient in all things.

In real life, if a pig finds a truffle, you have to immediately pull the pig and stuff an ear of corn into its mouth... or else the pig will simply eat the truffle.

(Which is why truffle hunters in France are gradually switching over to using dogs instead of pigs.)

I don't know if there's the same mechanics in the game, just a fun bit of trivia... :-)
