Are mods/ installing SMAPI 100% safe for mac computers and my Stardew Valley Game?
I've recently been looking at mods and they seem like a fun way to spruce up my SV experience. But I'm a bit worried, since I've never used them and don't want to ruin my Stardew Valley saves, so I'd like some insight from those who are experienced with mods and have a mac computer. Thanks,

I'm using them as well and everything is working fine. I have windows but I can't imagine it's too different. I get all my mods from NexusMods

SMAPI and mods work fine on a Mac, or at least they did. But if you add mods you need to start using them on a new game. One other note: As far as I can tell there is no quick disable function in SMAPI for mods. Although I believe there is a mod for that, which may or may not be compatible with all the mods you want to run.

It should be fine

Ok thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it. I'm still deciding whether or not I should use SMAPI, only because I'm not sure how to backup my saves. Does anyone know how to do that?

I just copy the Stardew folder on a regular basis. Steam cloud sync also seems to work pretty well. I go back and forth between two computers and the files are always available on both.
