Friends with Gus
I'm replaying this game, and I've been trying to talk to everyone regularly and get those friendship hearts. I'm about halfway through Fall of Year 1, and I've noticed that Gus is consistently pretty far behind for some reason - almost everyone is at 4 hearts by now, some as high as 6, and he's still sitting down at 2.

Does anyone have any ideas why? It doesn't really matter, but I thought it seemed very strange. I talk to him about as regularly as anyone else...I'm pretty sure I've talked to him more often than some of the homebodies like Elliott and Sebastian. I don't think I've gotten any quests from him, but again I don't think I've done enough for other people to explain that gap. I haven't been throwing gifts at many people. It's just odd.

If they're doing any repeatable action or dialogue, you get less points.

Examples

- "Haley is too busy with her camera to notice you"
- Any of the women on Tuesday working out
- "Shane is hard at work right now"
- "Welcome to the Stardrop Saloon, you're always welcome here!"
- "Sam is practicing a kickflip"
- "1, 2, 3, 4... oh no, I lost count!"

Basically any repeatable text boxes give half points. Gus is almost always behind the counter of his bar or shopping at Pierre's. The only time you'll really get full points is from catching him between the Saloon and Pierre's, or gifting him more than other people.

Oh, I didn't know that mechanic existed. That explains a lot. Thanks!
