Bridge won't repair?

I'm new to the game and struggling through my 1st season. I have the required 300 wood to open the bridge to the beach area but the broken bridge with the question mark simply won't open?
No dialogue box appears.
Is it a bug or am I missing something?

Might be a dumb question, but did you try right-clicking instead of left-clicking? I was playing with my friend yesterday and she was struggling because her first instinct was always to left-click.

Yes, I've done the above. And nothing happens.

Gotta be a bug, ive never experienced this and in-game its working just fine for me.

And walk really close = right out on the bit of bridge.
Also, just in case, it won't work at a beach festival.

I had to equip myself with wood. Then the dialogue option appeared.

I think it must be a bug.
I wouldn't have known I needed wood at all if I hadn't read about it in a guide.

maybe "lost in translation" ? at least in german it says very clear that it needs wood and how much.

It wouldn't tell me anything until I equipped wood!
