Question on chicken coop
So i recently got a coop and silo going on in my farm and i bought 2 chicks from marnie.
i looked up on the wiki and said chicks didn't need to be fed on the day they were bought so i understood that part. second day i placed to hay to the pen in the coop. third day said hay are still in the pen. do chicks not eat hay or am i doing something wrong?

If you opened coop's chicken door so chicks can walk outside, they will eat grass outside instead of hay inside. A good way to save some cash ^^ You'll need your hay at rainy days (animals dont go outside of coops and barns on rainy days) and Winter (no grass) so without hay animals will starve.

But i kept the chicken door closed in it's 3 days of existence. lol
also i cleared out 50% of my farmland's grass so i need to make a somewhat sizeable fence on the coop and get some grass seeds at the market sometime soon.
the chicks not eating the hay really got me worried.

Maybe they're ate another chicken, did you counted them yet? xD
Anyways, grass spread itself, so you dont need tons of grass seeds.
And real value of fence is weed dont grow inside of fence, so wont kill your crops :)

Maybe its deluxe coop, which takes hay directly from silo?
Or some mods? CJB Cheats Menu has same option, which works for all coops and barn no matter if those are deluxe or not...

The only thing i can think of is that the 2nd day the chicks were in my care was that it was the luau day. but i don't think holidays should stop animals from eating. lol
fences keep weed out eh? maybe i should fence my plants as well

Holidays do actually stop animals from eating. Or rather, animals automatically count as fed on holidays. So the luau just saved you two pieces of hay.

Well. That just solved my mystery lol.
One day later in the game thr chicks finally ate those hay. And they grew to chicken already! Kids grow up so fast these days.
