Vinegar and Rice

Two items that can only be purchased, and it's annoying, as both SHOULD be easy enough to do on the farm. The rice? Must be planted around the ponds on your farm (water farm gets a little bit of a bonus for rice production, which would be a good offset as their land for cultivation is limited otherwise).
For vinegar, either apple juice/wine in the casks has a 50/50 chance of turning into apple cider vinegar or apple cider. Also, putting vegetable juices in a cask results in regular vinegar.

Happy News! we have RICE!!! I found rice sprouts, once along the side of the river, then again in a treasure chest while fishing. THANK YOU!!!!! I just started a new game, so I'm not quite to casks yet, waiting to see if we get vinegar, but thank you so much for the rice. oh, and it grows faster next to bodies of water, way cool developer!

Now all we need is the ability to put wine in a preserves jar to turn it into Vinegar and we are all set!

Id like this. But i get the feeling thats going to have to be a mod. it feels like he would have done it this patch if he planned to, at this point its the only food thing we cant make, and instead he gave us other new foods.

I'll never complain about the patches that are released since I love the base game so much, but I feel he missed some very good things that could/should have been added/fixed. Speaking of mods though, I am very surprised that a mod like what I described doesn't exist yet!

I think it would be easier just to make it so that if you put vegetable juice in casks, it turns to vinegar. Not much to tweak that. Also making it a 50/50 chance of getting apple cider or apple cider vinegar instead of apple wine. That's just changing the name, and not much coding to give it a chance to become apple cider vinegar

if the developer wanted to be mean about it (please don't!) they could make it a 10% chance that ANY wine in a cask becomes vinegar.
