It'd be nice if they gave perhaps a 2-4 person limit on it, it wouldn't be much different than playing locally on consoles, but they would have to get enough studios on board or make it opt-in. Most probably like that you can't share games like that on PC though.
Unfortunately Valve patched that, Steam forces you to close the game before going offline. What 'might' work is disconnecting the internet on your end, since Steam ordinarily won't force games closed if you lose the connection. Or simply logging into Steam on the other PC.
Yes, except for the part where Steam doesn't allow offline mode while using family sharing or vice versa. I wasn't trying to contradict you, I was pointing out the only way fooling the system could work is the old fashioned way, shutting off your internet connection.
There is way to block steams connection without going to offline mode and thats by changing firewall settings
