Slime Hutch, what's the exact point?
I decided to build a Slime Hutch because I had a ton of money just laying around.
Put a slime egg in the incubator and a few days later I got a slime, that instantly attacked me.

What's the point in breeding slimes? I thought that, when you "raise" them yourself they would be tamed.

The slime hutch itself is, mainly, for gathering slime balls. Put your worthless green slimes in there and let them reproduce to the maximum of 20. You'll get like 60 slime per day to make more eggs or fishing bait. You can sell the excess crap eggs.

Take the good eggs (red and purple) and breed them OUTSIDE the hutch. The hutch can only hold 20, but you can raise hundreds outside. So for example, you could put 10 purple slimes in a pen outside, and a season later you'll have 50 purple slimes. Kill 40 of them for some "free" iridium and diamonds, and leave 10 to continue breeding.

Ones you raise in the hutch are exactly same to ones in the Secret Woods and the Mines, except they produce Slime Balls, which will contain Slime items. Try arranging a space for the slimes, using Wicked Statues and Slime Egg-Presses and some more of Slime Incubators. That should be able to contain slimes in one spot. Consider upgrading your Watering Can, because if you do, you will be able to fill the water troughs without getting damaged. Useful links:

Slimes are untamed, but they produce slime items and I suggest making a private space for them using slime related refining equipment. Upgrade your watering can so you'll be able to fill the water troughs without getting damaged. Useful links:

Thank you! Now it makes more sense.

You can put a fence and gate inside the slime hutch so you can enter and water the troughs without being bothered by the slimes. Plus the slime charmer ring really helps.
