That's known to be garbage filled. Not sure what you're looking for in this, but the other water sources have the fish in it.

Well, at least you can use them as energy aha. I suggest fishing in the rivers / ocean: those usually give you more fish.

Some people find fishing near impossible in the early part of the game. Seems to be a control v mouse thing.

I admit to being one of the players who cannot fish early on as I simply cannot get sufficient minute control of my mouse.

If this is your problem fish the ponds on your farm for junk. Save the junk in a chest it has real value later. Sell the cola.

When you get the reward of three crab pots, after about 100 junk catches, use those on the small pond and increase the number to 12 when you can by either buying or crafting them. Just empty and bait them daily.

When you are able to purchase the iradium rod and trap bobber you will be able to fish for the more common fish without too much difficulty.

(Please, you lucky guys who have no problem with the fishing dynamic, just accept and don't rub our noses in it. Many thanks.)

I suggest not selling the Cola, especially if you're trying to befriend Sam. It's one of the things he likes.

Lucky beat me too it. Save the Cola. It's the easiest thing to save as far as Sam's likes goes. One thing that helped me learn to fish was watching youtube videos that show someone's hand controlling the mouse.

Have you tried switching control from your mouse to keyboard? It doesn't make it easy, but it at least makes it possible.

I have z as my left click, x as my right. Though it doesn't help with the optional fishing at the fair, it helps everywhere else.

Another strategy is to put off fishing until you get a steel axe and unlock the secret forest. You'll mostly catch carp in the pond there and they are extremely easy to catch. It shouldn't take too much to level up enough to get the fiberglass rod.

Thank you,

But due to disability I cannot make that work. Others may well find this a useful suggestion though.

It is perfectly normal to earn junk from the farm pond. Trash also appears in crab pots unless you have the Luremaster profession. DO NOT SELL THE COLA. Joja Cola is considered as junk and sells for 0g.
