Consequences of giving gifts while married

So ive been playing this game for a while now on my switch, im on fall 1 year 4 and my character is mattied. Ive decided to raise the friendship levels with everyone in town by giving them gifts. Are there any consequences for giving any single characters gifts while you're married?

I believe the only issue is giving a single person a bouquet once you reach 8 hearts.

If anybody sees you giving a gift to a single person, your wife/husband will lose friendship points with you. They will also say something like this:
"So I heard that you secretly gave (NPC's name) a gift today."

Alternately, wait until their birthdays to do your gifting - gifts given to a marriage candidate on their birthday, in addition to being much more effective than usual, do not cause your spouse to become jealous.

I had a problem with my first wife in the game. I was trying to be as close as possible to everyone in the city as I had developed few friendships. This involved giving gifts to single women. One day I came home at night, I was married to Penny, she says she heard that I gave Maru a gift and so I did not know if she could trust me. I lost a heart at the same time. And I do not know if it was my impression, but I had to give more presents than normal to complete this heart again, even though it is your favorite gift with golden star.
I have now married Abigail and while doing some missions for M. Rasmodius, I had access to the altar that allows to erase the memory of the ex-wife that we were married and to start a new friendship with her.
