Year 1 - upgrade house or work on vault?
Hey, gang.
I'm on the first year, and I'm going up into winter soon. I have almost 20k saved up, and was looking to either upgrade my house for the first time, or save up a bit more for the 25k vault purchase in the community center.
I want to unlock that bus depot, but I don't know if it's wise at this level in the game.

Any thoughts?

I've only been playing a few weeks, but I cannot imagine unlocking the desert is worth the 40K it takes to unlock the vault all the way. I'm at the end of my year two and I haven't even purchased the first level of the vault, because i really don't see the point. The only reason I know of that I need to get to the desert is to catch that Sand fish to complete the fishing portion in the Community Center. But since I have lots of other things I still need to complete, I don't see why there's any rush to get to the desert. My plan is to pay for the vault at some point in year 3.

But congrats for earning so much in year one. As a noob, I know I didn't play my first two years in optimal fashion, to say the least. I probably grew like 10 crops total in each season, pretty weak and lame but oh well.

I'd personally go for the house and get cooking to gift people, but the shop in the desert sells infinite omni geodes on Wednesday; best way to get a prismatic shard. Depends on what you want to focus on.

the desert has the oasis which sells rare seeds, the casino (initially inaccessible) and probably most importantly, the skull caverns.

On my first playthrough I upgraded the vault. On my second playthrough, I had enough to upgrade both he vault and my house, all the way. I would recommend house first, as it allows you to get married and have a kid by the end of year one. If you dont want to get married, go for coops, barns, silos, and fruit trees instead of house/safe upgrades

The Desert is a bit of a let down, it has the skull caverns but you need to reach the bottom of the mines to access it in the first place. I suggest improving your farm.

I'm at 35k gold now on the 22nd of Fall. I've already purchased the 5k and 7.5k gold purchases of the vault. Also, I finished my Fish Tank in the Community Center because the ♥♥♥♥♥ lady sold that last desert fish I needed, lucky me. I guess I'll work on upgrading my house instead.

I'm on level 110 of the mines. Does it go much further down?

i dont even know how to feed my chickens and its almost winter for me too. the fall fair recently just passed and i recently just collected two star fruit. i almost have 25k cash and i havnt done much with the broken down community center and the bundle things so far. i recently just got the fall crops bundle completed. i feel so dumb that idk much of what i should be doing. i do make a lot of cash from fishing tho. i recently reached lv 10 in fishing and now fish are worth 50% more. i think im bad at this game cause im not good when it comes to collecting stuff for crafting. i have kitchen tho. and haley currently has around 6 hearts for me.:brownchicken::brownchicken:

Time isn't really an issue mind you, take your time or you could always start over :3.

I'd say prioritise getting a bunch of quality sprinklers and golden tools. After that, the desert or house is up to you. The desert unlocks some of the best ways to make money in the game, plus the ability to get your tools up to iridium tier. If you're happy with how much money you're making, and happy with gold tools, get the house upgrade first.

It's a kitchen to process fish and veggies into better food, versus better tools and money. I'll pick the desert every time, but it's entirely opinionated.

What I would do is unlock the desert, buy a bunch of rubarb seeds and then use the profit to get the house upgrade. Or, go to the mines to grind money during the winter.

I'd make a quality sprinkler field first, about 300-400 crops large, this way you can get big money. I'd probably go first level upgrade to house, then vault, then the rest of the house upgrades. Make sure to buy a better weapon from the guild before you try skull cavern. Late in the game you can go for junimo hut+iridium spinklers, being as an endgame setup to make money.

To feed your chickens you need to go to Robin and have her a build a silo for you. The grass you cut on the farm (the stuff you can walk through, that is, has a 50% chance to turn to hay and land in the silo. Then you go into your coop, click on the hopper left of the feeding bench, get hay, and put it down on the bench.

Also, you can buy hay from Marnie, but that gets expensive fast.
