The villagers, can I just kill them all?
But seriously, everyone in the village seems a little wacked and dificult to get along with. Sort of like real people I guess. I've been busting me ♥♥♥♥ to please these people, giving them gifts right and left, completing quests, and it seems like they either just don't appreciate or they're spiteful about it. Could just be me, don't know. I'm enjoying the game a lot. The only person I've been able to get more than one heart reputation with is Robin and that's probably only because I've given her more than 10k in business, lol. Is there something I'm missing here, or is there a way to just nuke the village?

They improve as you get to know them... but no, you can't nuke the village.

Use the wiki to see what gifts they like and love, and try to give them that. It takes a lot of time and work to get lots of hearts with anyone. I focused on just a few villagers at a time until I had enough items to just always gift anyone I happened to run into. Even if you don't gift, talking to them every day helps raise hearts too.

I honestly only remember a few people being super rude if you're not friends. Most everyone else is at least cordial. No nuking needed :P

Thanks. I have been making a lot of effort to talk to everyone I pass. I'm impressed by the amount of unique dialogue, but it hasn't seemed to produce any good results. And I do pay attention to what they say and try to figure out what gifts they like. I remember the one guy specially wanted hot peppers which I had just harvested. So I rushed over there and gave them to him he told me to pizz off cause he's watching his TV show, lol.

George is definitely one of the people who are super cranky until you get a lot of hearts with them. I remember he asked for peppers as a quest, but it's not a favorite gift. Most quests you get from the bulletin outside of the store have time limits. The time might have been up by the time you brought him the pepper.

The time wasn't up on that one, I'm sure. I did it righ away. Oh well, I'm enjoying the game a lot, the only annoyance so far is the people are grouchy. Even the chickens were grouchy, but I was able to make them happy :steamfacepalm:

Some people are easier to befriend in the game than others. IMO, some of the easier people to befriend are Shane, George, Emily & Haley since it is easier to get the gifts they like. Also, some NPC's will tell you what other NPC's love or hate.

Abigal is pretty easy as well as a general rule of thumb flowers wor well with most people. Flowers might not be their favorite but for most people they are happy enough and will start gaining hearts with them.

For all people? Most of the time in only works for the girls, for most guys it's a neutral gift...

I never said all just most and even then they are not alwaays great but they are positive just with some (like the girls) it gains faster and for others (mostly the guys) not much increase or as you said neutral but so far I haven't really had any really negative reactions to the flowers (mostly gifting sweet peas at the moment)

Generally most of the guys like beer while most of the girls like flowers. However, once you get to around the end of the first year you can just gift people low-value gems like Topaz, Aquamarines and Amethysts. I think Emily, Jas and Caroline love these items. Not sure about Haley but all the rest of the villagers like them as well. Just remember when giving high value gems that Haley hates prismatic shards.

I just gifted everyone sashimi because it's easy to make and can be made from "junk" fish from crab pots too. Emily, Kent, Evelyn, and Willy hate sashimi. Everyone else likes it. Sebastian loves it. Flowers and blackberries are what I would give to the other 4. Or things like seashells; Anything foraged really.

Just give Willy fish instead of sashimi, he likes it or loves it, i can't recall which. Pretty sure Willy has a neutral response to flowers IIRC.

Hyperion, give old George wild leeks, he loves them & they are easy to get forage in the spring, hopefully you may still have some left. After you get 3 hearts with Demetrius, he will give you a recipe for fried mushrooms, which George also loves. Save the hot peppers for Lewis & Shane, both love them
