Ah ok. i also didn't find iridium or w/e. i still just have gold axe/pick/hoe. i will try to figure out how to fix the bus.
I do have lots of quests active but i don't feel like looking all over the place for the mayors shorts etc. for ppl who lost stuff.
Hint: Community Center.
For most people, this means fully automated (sprinklers for crops, maybe junimo huts, and auto-feeding barns and coops) and designed well. "Designed well" is subjective, but most people like to make their farm look kinda pretty to show them off. :P
