Why Did My Crop Turn Brown And Die
Sometimes in the middle of a season, I notice a crop turns brown and dead, then it has to be cleared with a pickax. Even though I'm pretty sure I watered things, they still died.

Well I figured maybe I had made a mistake, until crops that were being watered by sprinklers died. Not eaten by crows or anything, just brown, withered, dead.

Do some crops just randomly die off?

What slackerboe said;
Just wanted to say that clearing it with pickaxe is waste of energy. You can do it with scythe, it doesn't do anything to alive plants.

Do lightning rods have a coverage range? I had like literally 14+ lightning rods out . . . maybe I need to build more lightning rods? put them in different places?

(also thanks for the reply)

They cover whole farm. But they can only intercept lightning with a chance (50% for each rod if I remember right) and only once until you gather battery (so for a day after first lightning hit it can't intercept lightnings)
So if you have not enough rods, then lightning will hit something else.
